Painted a self portrait with my signature bun on the top of my head. I used complementary colors such as the blond(yellow) and the blue/purple back ground. I used shadow and highlights on my face by using different shades. Art elements I used were color, form, shape and space to create a cohesive painting that had emphasis. The mood is relaxed because that's how I look.
This is the first time I've ever attempted to draw a realistic face. I practiced multiple times in this class and once at home to get this result. I worked on shadow and focus using a pencil for value and form. My portrait shows a variety of design elements such as emphasis and proportion. I gave my self big eyes and a nose like mine. I did my best and believe it portrays a serious mood. Latley we have been working on water color leaves and complementary colors. To paint a leaf you should start with a boarder, which I did and then draw your leaves then paint on plain yellow to every leaf and add the color on top of what you want. My leaves were yellow, brown and red. Green, yellow and red was my second, and my third was orange, yellow and red. I painted a background purple complementary color for the design element of contrast I also have value and form. The mood is grace. This hall way drawing was a difficult project becuase Im still learning about perspective. I used line, value, shape and space to create a hall way. My hall way had main features such as locker, a water fountain and a door. I used strong value to show perspective and pattern. I was closer to the water fountain so it is almost larger than the door becuase of the one point perspective. All of the elements I used created disign elements like proportion. The mood of my hall way is construction because my drawing includes only straight lines and no clear emotion. My one point room drawing includes a vanishing point which i ground from drawing orthogonal lines. I started with a box which is my back wall I filled with a tapastery. I've drawn a bed and rug that follow the vanishing point. When I look at my room I see clea proportions created by line, shape and space. The mood of my one point room is traqility. This drawing uses a vanishing point which I put in the middle, however I used differnt shapes to make it more interesting. I used a pencil to draw dark lines by pushing harder then also pushing less hard the closer I get to the vanishing point. My art elements include line, shape, value and space to create emphasis which is a design element. I think the mood of this drawing would be diverse because I used differnt shapes. In this project the main focus was to have parallel lines, be able to create space with lines and have depth with the value you draw with. I used various shapes and did my best with overlapping them. My picture used line value and shape to create pattern and proportion. I used a ruler for my lines and a 6H pencil. If I were to give this drawing a mood I would say cluttered becuase of the way the shapes fall on top of echother and varry In size. My drawing is "all over the place" In my table group we put all of our pictures together to make one picture which I really like. This is my first project in an art class so of course the best thing to learn first is drawing straight lines with contrasting values. My picture is the bottom one. At the top I started with drawing lightly with pencil the at the bottom pushed harder with the pencil to create value. To make my part of the picture(the bottom piece of paper) I used a ruler to create straight edges and used triangles, squares, rectangles and 1 trapezoid for create movement which is one of the art elements as well as pattern because it only consists of straight lines. If I were to give this piece a mood I would say stress because it looks like eveything is going it different directions. |
